Interventional Cardiology
CBSET employs practicing physicians and experts who specialize in interventional cardiology. CBSETs pre-clinical facilities are specifically designed for percutaneous intervention of the structure and vasculature of the heart and peripheral organs. CBSET provides GLP and non-GLP services to help clients design and develop new products used in angioplasty, stent implantation, heart valve repair and replacement, and electrophysiology. CBSETs technological and scientific expertise enables development and use of specialized disease models specifically designed for novel technologies.
Current clinical methods for treating vascular and structural heart disease can involve open cardiac surgery. Less invasive interventional procedures have already supplanted some such surgical procedures, and many more are under development to provide less invasive methods in the treatment of CVD. Interventional procedures can also provide a unique mechanism for delivery of cells or genes directly to diseased or damaged tissue. CBSET is equipped to guide companies and conduct critical phase studies in the development of products used in Interventional Cardiology, or products for which interventional procedures are the primary method of drug, gene, or cell delivery.
